Sri Vijaya Puram, 09 October: A theft was reported at Government Senior Secondary School, Haddo, after school staff discovered that an air-conditioning unit and an inverter battery were missing from the school’s multipurpose hall on the morning of October 6.
According to information available, the school staff noticed the missing items during regular school hours and immediately brought the matter to the attention of the school authorities.
A subsequent review of CCTV footage reportedly revealed that an unidentified person had entered the school premises during the night of October 5. The individual allegedly switched off the school’s electricity supply and CCTV cameras before stealing the school property under the cover of darkness.
The missing items reportedly include a 1.5-ton split air-conditioning unit and an inverter battery.
Following the incident, the school authorities lodged a complaint at Chatham Police Station on October 6. Police have been informed of the matter, and further details regarding the investigation and identification of the suspect are awaited.
