Sri Vijaya Puram, September 22: An accident involving a Maruti Suzuki Celerio car and a Mahindra pickup vehicle was reported in the Beodnabad area near the temple on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in damage to the car and minor injuries to its driver.

According to information available, the Celerio was travelling from the Chidiatapu side when it was involved in a collision with a Mahindra pickup that was proceeding from Bird Line towards the MSS Office.

The Mahindra pickup was reportedly carrying water cans at the time of the incident. The collision caused substantial damage to the Celerio, while its driver sustained minor injuries following the impact.

The matter was subsequently reported to Pahargaon Police Station, following which police personnel took up the case and initiated an investigation.

There were also allegations that the pickup driver may have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The allegation has not been independently established, and further details are awaited from the police investigation.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are examining the circumstances leading to the collision, including the alleged circumstances surrounding the pickup driver's condition at the time of the accident.
