Sri Vijaya Puram, 04 Sep: North & Middle Andaman District Police intensified its enforcement efforts against
illicit liquor and the unauthorised sale of IMFL, on 02.10.2026.
During multiple raids, police teams seized 35 kg of illicit Handia, 1.6 litres of illicit
liquor, and approximately 20 litres of IMFL contained in 50 bottles. The seizures were
made by the Police Stations of Baratang, Rangat, Kadamtala, Diglipur and Mayabunder
during separate enforcement operations. All seizures were carried out in accordance
with due legal procedure, and cases were registered under the relevant provisions of
the Excise Regulation.
The district police urge to report any illegal activities to the nearest police station
or via the 100 and 112 helplines. All informer identities remain strictly confidential, and
rewards will be given for actionable tips.
