Swaraj Dweep, Oct. 5: Shri Jai Prakash, National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prabhari of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, visited Swaraj Dweep today to participate in various political and public outreach programmes. He was accompanied by Shri Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President, BJP, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, and other party leaders.
Soon after his arrival, Shri Jai Prakash visited the Anganwadi Centre and participated in an Angan Milan programme at Radhanagar village. A large number of children, mothers and villagers attended the programme.
During the interaction, participants were informed about various welfare schemes and encouraged to avail themselves of the benefits available under different government programmes. Snack packets were also distributed among the children and mothers.
Following the Angan Milan programme, Shri Jai Prakash participated in a tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.
In the evening, he presided over a meeting at the Govind Nagar Panchayat Hall attended by PRI members, Mandal-level functionaries and booth-level karyakartas. The meeting focused on organisational matters and strengthening the party’s grassroots presence in Swaraj Dweep.
The programmes were also attended by Shri Mohan Haldar, State Vice President, BJP; Smt. Chaitali Roy, State President, Mahila Morcha and Convenor of the Angan Milan programme; Smt. Champa Das, Panchayat Pramukh and Co-Convenor of the programme; Shri Apurva Roy, Zilla Parishad Member, Swaraj Dweep; Shri Ajit Roy, Pradhan, Govind Nagar Panchayat; and Shri Alok Mirdha, Pradhan, Shyam Nagar and Mandal President, BJP.
